Σιταρήθρα

(Common names: Alouda, Donna, Dondola, Gerontas

The Skylark is 18cm long. It is mainly of camouflage colouring, with a small head tuft and outer white tail feathers. It runs over land with ease and brakes using its long back claws. It flies very high, soaring vertically and singing at the same time. In the winter, it is found in large flocks mainly in the lowlands.
