Φάσσα

41cm in length, the Woodpigeon is a large-bodied species of pigeon, with characteristic white striation on its wings that is visible at a distance. There is a white patch on its throat edged in metallic green and the underwing is dark. The Woodpigeon nests in trees and rarely in rocks. It is an indigenous species but moves according to feeding and weather conditions. In the winter its numbers in Greece increase.
