(common names: Blackbird, Garaveli)

The Starling is 20cm long. In spring and summer its feathers are black and shiny and in winter the coat is marked with white mottling. Its pointed beak is black in winter and yellow in spring. It is indigenous to Greece but in winter the population increases significantly, forming huge flocks.
