Κυνηγόπαπια

(common names: Gisari, Svourdouli, Redhead, Topi)

The Common Pochard is 46cm long. The shiny chestnut-brown head, black breast and grey-black body distinguish the drake. The hen is a chestnut-grey from above, predominantly chestnut from below with a white patch on the front of the head. It is a winter visitor to Greece but few pairs nest locally.
