For full scientific documentation on matters relating to prey policy and the hunting season, the types of game and the numbers which will be hunted every hunting season, measures taken to ensure maintenance of the game population, game population dynamics, as well as reinforcement of the game population and protection of their habitats, the Greek Hunting Association operates 4 extensive long term programmes, 3 of which are involved in research: a) “Artemis I” and “Artemis II”, b) the Phenology of Migration and c) A programme consisting of activities designed to promote game, thereby improving habitats. In addition, game friendly activities run by Hunting Organisations receive significant financial support.
